Explorer Program

POST 103
The Greer Fire Department's Explorer Post 103 is for youths between the ages of 14 and 20 who are interested in future careers in emergency medicine and fire science fields.

Our staff train these young individuals in topics such as fire suppression, salvage and overhaul, SCBA training, aerial operations, ground ladders, basic first aid and life support, fire prevention, and public relations. This program is a great tool for the Explorer to learn the "Job" and prepare them for this career. Also, the post can be used for recruitment by the City for future job openings.

This program will not only help the Explorer learn about the different facets of the fire service, but more importantly it will provide them with a better understanding about how to work together as a team and to give back to their fellow man.

For more information on joining the Explorer Post Contact John Bailey at jbailey@cityofgreer.org
